Dear Sri Govindan
C - rAni nI daya- You have taken the meanings as வாராத உனது தயையினை and hard-to-attain (rAni) grace (daya)? Can this be taken as உனது தயை வரட்டும் Let Your grace come ?
Regards
Govindaswamy
Dear Sri Govindaswamy,
That is how earlier I translated the word 'rAni'. But in that case, the words 'rAni nI daya' remain isolated. Further, I have consulted the Tamil book by TSV/AKG wherein the meaning derived is 'கிடைத்தற்கரிய' which, to me is more appealing than the earlier version. Further, it gets connected to pallavi and reinforces the word 'maracE vADanA'.
Regards,
V Govindan
