Dear Sri Govindan
I recently listened to this kriti. The link is given below.
http://lokabhiramam.blogspot.com/2011/06/devi-sri-tulasamma-mayamalavagaula.html
You have given 'Sankari' and 'nIrajAdulanollaDaTa' as variations. On thinking over these I feel that these may be the correct ones.
. You have given the meaning as "Without You, Lord Siva and Lord vishNu don’t like lotus and other flowers." Tulasi is not used in the worship of Lord Siva. I feel that that tyAgarAja has used 'Sankari' as an epithet for Tulasi. If this is acceptable 'ollaDaTa' is correct. Regards
Govindaswamy
Dear Sri Govindaswami,
In two books, 'Sankaru' and 'ollaraTa' are given. Therefore, it is not possible for me to say definitely what is right. Further, tuLasi is not only sacred for Vaishnavas but also Saivas. You may refer to kRti 'tuLasi jagajjanani' wherein Sri tyAgarAja states 'nI madhyamu sakala sura AvAsamaTa'. This statement is based on Devi Bhagavatam which I have quoted in the Kriti.
Therefore, while what you say may be correct, I will leave it to the viewers to judge for themselves.
Regards,
V Govindan
