Dear Sri Govindan
AP- For iha & paramula you have given the meanings as ‘in this and future world’. Do not these words convey the meaning “You grant this and future world.” In this case ‘nemmatini’ can be taken to mean comfortably/easily/without any effort.
If the meaning as given by you is to be taken should not the wording be ihalO & paramulO? How paramulO and osagu combine? Will it be paramulOyosagu? The latter will be as per Tamil grammar.

Dear Sri Govindaswamy,

It may not be appropriate to say 'You grant this and future world', because, everyone of us have to go thru 'this and future worlds'. But how we go thru, is what matters. Whether we suffer or remain comfortably is of real concern. Therefore, 'nemmatini' is to be attached to 'iha parammula'.

'iha paramu' is a word combination. Therefore, declension for the second word only is alright. Even otherwise, when a number of words are pluralised, the last word of the list only is made plural. It follows the same logic. This is true of telugu and tamil grammar. If it is separately given, then it should be 'ihamula paramula' (or ihamulO paramulO).

It may be possible to derive the same meaning with 'parammulO'. But it is not given so in any of the book. Therefore, discussing this would be only academic.

Regarding joining of the words, 'y' as the sandhi may be appropriate.

Dear Govindan
In the kalyANi kriti Amma rAvamma, Ms. Arunthathi Krishnan, whose concert wae telecast on 9.7.2018 at 4-00 P.M she sang the lines as ‘tAmarasa daLa nEtrudu tyAgarAjuni mitrudu’. Most of the people, including my wife have laearned and sing this as ‘tAmarasa daLa nEtri tyAgarAjuni mitri’, whereas you have given these as ‘tAmarasa daLa nEtru tyAgarAjuni mitru’ . I was thinking that nEtri and mitri are feminine adjectives and they were addressing tuasi, in addition to nIraja-akshi. Please comment on these variations.
I wonder who has thought that the original was grammatically wrong

Dear Sir,
I have not come across this variation - as nEtruDu, mitruDu. From the context, I feel these two are adjectives of vishNu and not tuLasi. Therefore, I feel that mitri,nEtri are errors. I doubt whether tyAgarAja would like to call mother tuLasi as 'mitri'. I have not been able to find the feminine form of'mitri'. Probably mitri is both masculine and feminine.

I may also add that the word 'mitruDu' nEtruDu' would increase the mAtra by 2. I don't know how the singer has managed to accommodate these.
