2 - gOpura – This and four other kRtis are said to form the quintet of kOvUr compositions of SrI tyAgarAja. In kRtis ‘I vasudha nIvaNTi’ rAga SahAna, kRti ‘nammi vaccina’ rAga kalyANi and kRti ‘kOri sEvimpa’ rAga kharaharapriya, SrI tyAgarAja clearly mentions ‘kOvUr’. In this kRti and in the kRti ‘sundarESvaruni’ rAga SankarAbharaNaM, SrI tyAgarAja mentions ‘gOpuraM’. As this kRti is completely in Sanskrit, SrI tyAgarAja seems to have used Sanskrit version of the tamil word ‘kOvUr’. Therefore, ‘gOpura’ mentioned in this kRti, refers to ‘kOvUr’. sthala purANa of kOvUr.
3 – sundarESa – the name of Lord at kOvur.
Comments -
4 – bhava hara – This can either be taken as a single epithet – one who rescues from the Ocean of Worldly Existence’ – or as two epithets – ‘bhava’ and ‘hara’. However, the second version may not be correct because the epithet 'hara' appears earlier in the caraNa.

Sri Sundareshwara is believed to have worshipped by Goddess Mahalakshmi herself, in the form of a cow (hence "gopura") - to awaken his yogic trance and take the hand of Parvati Devi who was performing austere penance to achieve the same.
Madam,
According to kOvur darSan, mahAlakshmi in the form of a cow worshipped Siva.
Therefore, I take it that You mean "SrI Sundareshwara is believed to have been worshipped by Goddess Mahalakshmi".

V Govindan
Hi,
I have a question regarding the meaning of the charanam.
which word signifies " wearing a snake around the neck as ornament'?
Thanks,
Laxmi
Laxmi,
'dharaNI dhara bhUshaNa' - here 'dharaNI dhara' - one who bears the Earth - Sesha is referred. Sesha is supposed to bear the Earth.
With best wishes,
V Govindan
