Dear Sri Govindan
C - ' aitE' ' jUcitE' etc have been taken to be in present tense by you. However, ' ayyedaru' etc have been taken to be in past tense. To me all these sound like present tense. (ஆகின்றனர்).

Govindaswamy

Dear Sri Govindaswamy,
Though what you say might be correct, but it cannot be applied to all situations. 'become' 'ஆகின்றனர்' type of usage would indicate usualness. But here Sri Tyagaraja seems to be referring to a past experience. Particularly, the last reference 'Satruvulayyedaru', might not indicate usualness, but only a past action. Therefore, for uniformity sake, it would be better to take these in the past tense only.
Regards,
V Govindan
