Word-by-word Meaning

P O Exceedingly (ati) charming (lAvaNya) rAma! Please look at me (jUDavE) gracefully (kanulAra) (literally clearly).

A O Moon – the cooler (SIta kara) (who blossoms) the lily (kumuda) of the mind (citta) of Your wife (vanitA) lakshmI (or sItA) (SrI)!
O Lord who is as charming as a hundred (Sata) cupids – unique born (ananyaja) (SatAnanyaja)! Please look at me gracefully.

C Your (nI) mind (manasu), Your (nI) elegance (sogasu) and Your (nI) style (dinusu) (literally manner, kind) are totally different (vErE);
why (Ela) should I seek the grace of Gods (daivamu) (daivamEla) of sects (mata) given to tAmasa worship? O Lord praised (nuta) by this tyAgarAja!
O divinely (divya) charming rAma! Please look at me gracefully.

Notes –
Variations –
In some books the rAga name is given as 'rudra priya'.

References –
3 – ananyaja – Please visit the website to know more about cupid – ‘unique born’

Comments –
1 – kanulAra – If this statement is from a devotee, it would be translated as ‘to the satisfaction of eyes’; here it refers to the Lord. Therefore, it has been translated as ‘gracefully’.

2 – SrI vanitA – In some books, this has been translated as 'lakshmI' and in some other books as 'sItA'. Both may be correct.

4 – dinusu – this word seems to have been derived from Arabic.

5 – tAmasa mata – Generally this refers to ‘worship of Siva’ and kaula mArga of Sakti worship.

Dear Sri Govindan
In caraNam  for the word ‘vErE, you have given the meaning as வேறாகும்/ different.   The meaning given by  Sri Kalluri Satya Rama Prasad is ‘Your mind, charm and style are unique’.  This appears to be more approipriate.

Dear Sri Govindaswamy,

The English meaning of 'vErE' - 'totally different' and Tamil meaning 'வேறாகும்' do amount to mean 'not ordinary' ie., 'unique'.
