Sri Govindan - thank you for the great service you are providing musicians and music lovers. Your meticulous word to word translations are extremely useful to all, my friend Prasad Mantraratnam and myself were just appreciating you in our last conversation. In this krithi, the translation "damsel with excellent teeth" may be literally correct but I assume "smiling" is a more elegant translation? Thank you.

Dear Sri Govindan
I am making these comments in lighter vein. Would it not have been more apt if Thyagaraja had invited damsels with beautiful eyes to behold the Lord.
