    • Why is it that you wouldn’t listen to the words of this tyAgarAja who gives you suggestions for being redeemed easily in the kali yuga, instead of wandering here entangled in the company of those endowed with qualities of passion and inertia and thus wasting time?

to spend (gaDupumu) (gaDupumanina) days (dinamu) by becoming humble (dInuDavai) and chanting the names (bhajana jEsi) of Lord rAma - the adornment (bhUshuNuni) of Solar (dina-kara) dynasty (kula)?

Why (Ela) is it (adi) that you wouldn’t listen (vinavu) (vinavadEla) to the words (mATa) of this tyAgarAja (tyAgarAju) who gives (teliya jEyu) (literally intimate) you suggestions (sUcanalanu) for being redeemed (kaDa tEranu) easily (sulabhamugA) in the kali yuga (kalilO),
instead of wandering (tirugucu) here (ilanu) (literally in the Earth) entangled (kalasi melasi) (literally mixing and mingling) in the company (celimi) of those (vAri) endowed with (kala) qualities (guNamulu) of passion (rAjasa) and inertia (tAmasa) and (mari) (thus) wasting (gaDapakanE) (literally spend) time (kAlamu)?
How shall I tolerate? Accept my appeal.

Dear Sri Govindan
AP – Some people sing as “dinamu kaDupumanina”. They probably do not know that kaDupu means stomach.
CaraNam- One senior vidushi keeps on singing as “sulabhamugA gaDa tEranu”. She probably wants gaDapakanE and gaDatEranu to rhyme.

we have to appreciate that the telugu grammar which was followed when tyagaraja was writing this and the present day usage of telugu are quite different. It is quite right according to grammar thar "sulabhamugA gaDatEranu" is sung as according a sootra of telugu grammar all ka,cha,Ta,ta, pa becomes ga,ja,Da,da,ba during certain usage. this is the reason for the confusion in the first place relating to kaDupu and gaDupu also. my suggestion would be to understand the meaning of each word and then sing with or without the grammar adjustment called sandhi depending upon the convenience so that the bhaava is not destroyed

Thanks a lot for the efforts. Could have a real sense of the Bhava with word by word meanings.. That too in so many languages.
