The word 'Idu' has a meaning 'struggle' also - please refer to 'Idu'. I am now revising the kRti 'Ananda sAgaramIdani'. In that case 'Idu' would mean 'swim'. But keeping in mind the word 'vyasana' in the present kRti, I have translated as 'struggle'. Further, the meaning adopted in the book of TTD does not seem to be appropriate.

Re : tODi vAralalO. The whole caraNa is difficult to translate because it is very cryptic. I referred to books to find what meaning had been derived traditionally. In the book of CR, it has been translated 'among my peers'. Even if the translation is made as 'Your peers', still the sense would be incomplete unless we amplify as to why brahmA should be angry with other Gods. Therefore, in keeping with the tone of the kRti, I have translated as 'my peers'.

Regards,
V GovindanV Govindanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08711373807817392310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29597207.post-41149065592076355202009-12-03T05:05:45.998+00:002009-12-03T05:05:45.998+00:00Dear Sri Govindan

Does not the word ‘IdirA’ give the meaning ‘successfully swam across’? On the otherhand can this be taken as a query raised wih a doubt, giving the meaning given by you.
The meaning given in TTD book in Telugu is “ I do not know whether You saved etc”.
C 6- tODi vAralalO- You have taken this as ‘in the midst of my compeers’. However this phrase appears to stand separately and you have added (that my fate is like this). Can this be taken as ‘Your compeers’ ?
Regards
GovindaswamyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
