I am also aware that after compiling the kRtis of SrI tyAgarAja, the next logical step would be to analyse them. But in order to do that one has to be musically and literature-wise qualified enough - I am neither. My only qualification was that my mother tongue is Telugu and I was born in Tamil Nadu. Further, one must set aside his his own notions because the subject of discussion is 'parA bhakti'. In view these shortcomings, I stopped short of going deeper. God willing, and the Saint willing, I may undertake the same, if I am commanded so.

As regards discussions on rAgas of kRtis, there is a website www.rasikas.org which have membership on wide ranging subjects, where such discussions could take place. You may become a member and initiate discussions.

Nice to hear from an elderly person who held high positions.
With Regards,
V Govindan
V Govindanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08711373807817392310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29597207.post-28003697171094279562015-07-11T04:51:32.451+01:002015-07-11T04:51:32.451+01:00As an elderly lover of our Music and Thyagaraja kr...As an elderly lover of our Music and Thyagaraja kritis since I was a boy of ten years, I deeply appreciate your work in compiling some of the songs, transliterating the Sahitya and rendering the text in English.
As a boy I grew up in Thanjavur, where my father (a 'rasika' literate in Telugu, posted there
as a district judge in the 1940's, who composed some kritis in Tamil and was
an early founder of Thyaga Brahma Sabha, where we heard Maharajapuram Viswa-, Ariyakudi and many great Vidwans) took us to the Thiruvayyar annual 'aaradhana'.
I wish you would enlarge your valuable website by some discussion on the
Ragas of the kritis and the composer's contribution to the Raga.
Thanks and deep respects to you from a fellow-rasika, a retired Indian diplomat of 82.
'Swara raga sudha rasa'. By the way, please collect all the known references to our music by Thyagaraja. I think he considered Rama the divine rasika of music, imbued with Bhakti and Mridanga talamu.
A. MadhavanA.
