Excepting for the 'kAmita phala dAyaka' of pallavi which is in second person, the rest of the kRti is harmoniously worded. I do not understand as to why anyone should assume that it would be more appropriate if it is given as 'SrI rama nI padamula'.

You are aware, I am not inclined to change a single word of kRtis unless there is an obvious error.

I do not believe in changing words of Tyagaraja just because it suits my taste.

Regards,
V GovindanV Govindanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08711373807817392310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29597207.post-57855534001715636872010-11-07T00:44:26.851+00:002010-11-07T00:44:26.851+00:00Dear Sri Govindan

Late Sree N.Ch. Krishnamacharyulu has given it as ‘Sree-raghu-raama! nee padamula’, which seems to be very apt. (In this song, Raama is addressed in pallavi & anupallavi. Then, tyaagaraja cannot ‘tell’ Raama that Raama’s feet have to be held (3rd person as well as 2nd person at the same time)!
Regards
GovindasamyGovindaswamyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16265190124878573283noreply@blogger.com
